Interpersonal Skills Training

Interpersonal Skills Training is all about effective communication. People typically spend over 75% of their time in an interpersonal situation, in all types, shapes and sizes of organizations. The process of transmitting information from one individual or group to another is complex and fraught with potential pit falls. This course illuminates what those communication barriers are and how to overcome and avoid them.

Listening is the key. In this training we explore the multiple techniques to be used in tackling AND conquering this challenge. There is a reason we have two ears and one mouth. We also learn to listen with the eyes as well as the ears. During this training event the participant will discover the critical importance of non-verbal communication as well. We will begin to learn how and why to listen openly with empathy to the person or persons delivering the message. Giving feedback requires an honest message given with dignity & respect. Participants will learn to evaluate the feedback and will be given an opportunity to practice and improve their skills.

Course Objectives at the Conclusion of this Training, for each participant, are as follows:

  • Truly understanding what Communication means

  • The ability to recognize and comprehend the meaning of nonverbal cues

  • A realization of how listening skills impact effective communication

  • Raising the level of awareness of one’s own communication style

  • Knowing how to give positive feedback
